Seed raising mix recipe for Spring 2026

Here is my controversial seed raising mix recipe for Spring 2026:

• 1 part compost
• 1 part coir (soaked overnight)
• 1 part worm castings eg. pelletised 'worm nuggets'
• 2 parts finely milled Biochar (from the Flame Cap 'Corrugated Box' V2 Panel Kiln (biochar pieces)/Navigator TLUDs (biochar pellets) soaked in the worm castings overnight

I'm still using 'Curlys' microgreen trays mounted on a trestle table but I've moved the system to the North/sunny side of the house. I'm not going to wick them this time to improve drainage. Instead, I fabricated a small gravity fed thick plastic bowl with tiny drill holes in the bottom centre. This can be periodically filled up from a water jug.
